Privacy
Your photos, yours alone
PicLoom was designed local-first from the first line of code: it's a library tool, not a cloud album.
- ✓Photos stay on device by default. Cloud image attachments require a separate opt-in. Review records, saved stories and previews are stored locally.
- ✓Analysis happens on device. Stories use Apple's Vision framework for labels; cloud images require a separate opt-in.
- ✓No account, no tracking, no ads. Nothing to sign up for.
- ✓The cloud engine sends text by default. If you opt into a cloud story engine, only text facts go out; attaching photos requires a separate, explicit consent.
- ✓Deletion goes through the system. Deletes happen in-app behind the native iOS confirmation, with a 30-day Recently Deleted safety net.

Questions you might have
Is PicLoom free?
Free access includes 50 keep or delete decisions per local day. A qualifying share adds 25 once that day, for a maximum of 75. Pro removes the daily review limit with a one-time purchase. Browsing, undo and confirming pending deletions remain available.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
Photos stay on device by default. Optional cloud stories send day summaries only after consent; compressed images require a separate opt-in. Weather and place lookup can send photo coordinates and a date to their providers.
How does deletion work? Can I mis-swipe something away?
A left swipe only queues a photo. When you confirm, PicLoom starts one batch delete behind the native iOS confirmation, and everything lands in Recently Deleted — recoverable for 30 days.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, iOS 17 or later. Widgets need iOS 17+. The “on-device smart” story engine needs an Apple Intelligence-capable device (iPhone 15 Pro and newer); everyone else gets the template engine automatically — no missing features, just a different writer.
What happens to my history when I switch phones?
Everything lives on device. An iCloud device backup or transfer to a new iPhone carries your decisions and story cache along.
